Winter Fun…every day outside!

.

The Holidays are coming!

We’ve been busy digging into Holiday activities here at the Garden!  Everyone is settled into routines nicely, making and maintaining friendships and loving projects, circle time discussions and learning new songs. Last week the each child made their own contribution for their Thanksgiving celebrations!  A great turkey ‘centerpiece’ and an honest-to-goodness full sized pumpkin pie!   We used real pumpkins so that the children could see how food we grow becomes foods that are often bought at the store.  (no, we didn’t grow the pie pumpkins!)  I have heard from a few alum in the past week or two about how they still recall making pies. One had told their kindergarten teacher “I know ALL about pumpkins- I made a pumpkin pie at preschool and I’m going to go there and make one this year.”    I wish we could have done that!    All the kids sang “Alice’s Restaurant” and hopefully heard Sally ‘08 sing it on WCLZ as a 2.5 year old her first year at the Garden…:)
